Targets and takings
Retail sales tracking against a target that actually gets checked
Each store enters the day's takings — cash, card and delivery — against its daily target. The week builds as it goes, so a shortfall is visible on Wednesday instead of at the end of the month.
A target per store, entered daily
Sales tracking fails when the number arrives too late to act on. OPZAIQ keeps the entry small enough to do at close: the day's takings by payment type, for that store, once per day. One entry per store per day is enforced, so the week total always matches the entries behind it.
Each store carries its own daily target, and the weekly target is simply that figure across the trading week. Progress is measured against the days actually entered, not against a full week you have not traded yet.
Comparing this week with last
The dashboard puts this week beside the previous one for every store, so a soft Saturday or a strong promotion week is obvious without building a chart. Group totals roll up automatically, and each store's contribution is visible next to its own target rather than an averaged group figure.
| What it handles | How it works |
|---|---|
| Daily takings entry | Cash, card and delivery takings entered per store, once per day. |
| Per-store daily target | Each site's target is set independently and measured against the days entered. |
| Week-on-week view | This week beside the previous week for every store, with the difference shown. |
| Group roll-up | All stores totalled for the group, with each site's contribution visible. |
| Missing entries | Stores that have not entered today's figures are flagged so the record stays complete. |
| Hours alongside sales | Worked hours for the same week sit next to takings, so cost and result are read together. |
Sales next to the cost of making them
Because hours and takings live in the same system, the wage cost of a week sits next to the sales for that same week. That is usually the number owners actually want, and it is the one that spreadsheets separate across two files.
Common questions
Does OPZAIQ pull sales from my POS automatically?
Takings are entered by the store at close rather than synced from a till. That keeps OPZAIQ POS-agnostic, and it means the figure recorded is the one the store signs off on.
Can two people enter the same day twice?
No. Each store is limited to one takings entry per day, so weekly totals cannot be inflated by duplicate entries.
Can targets be changed later?
Yes. Targets are set per store and can be adjusted as trade changes; past weeks keep the target they were measured against.
